Gangs awareness, Search your kids

To help stop gun and knife crime parents should search their kids before they go out, if every parent did this I bet gun and knife crime would fall dramatically. It would also have a huge effect on preventing kids from taking drugs too. Sounds drastic well maybe it is, but desperate times call for desperate measures, which would you rather have that or your kids mixed up with guns, knives, drugs, dead or in prison? Think about it which is worse?

What about the issue of trust?

Well trust has to be earned, even if you only did it at random then after a period of time, if they have earned your trust then give it to them and stop. If every parent did it particularly in areas where gangs have become a problem, I bet it would have a huge effect. I bet the parents of kids who have been shot or stabbed, or ended up in prison wished they and more parents did this. You would only be doing it because you loved them and know how vulnerable young people are to gun, knife, drug and gang culture. Remember every parent thinks that their kids would never carry a gun or knife and so many are wrong!

We need to start getting tough with our kids and enforce some real discipline, for their sake because we love them.

I think that’s a excellent idea, if every parent did it the rate of drug, knife and guns offences would fall significantly overnight, parents you know what to do. Do it for your kids.

I think it would do allot to disarm the gangs as most of them are just kids, who are still living at home. It would also do allot to prevent drug abuse.

I think it’s a very interesting idea, that has allot of potential to have a big effect, definitely worth considering.

If every parent did it particularly in areas where gangs are a problem, there’s no doubt it could make a real difference. You know the problem though, it’s probably something that every parent thinks only the parents of other peoples kids should do, most parents think my little Johnny would never carry a knife of do drugs. Well the fact is they are, so wake up. Every now and again I am going to search my kids, for their own sake. Great idea.

Sounds like a good idea, I wish more parents did it as it could save allot of needless deaths.

I will search mine, not all the time just every now and again.

I agree with some of the posting on this website. I've known that my son has been trying to get into various gangs or possiblly hasn't made a decision on which gangs he's interested in. I have found various gangs affiliation colors, signs, drawings and etc.. in this room, along with various illegal items. I constantly check his room on a weekly basises. At the beginning he didn't like it because I would confront him about it and of course he would denied it. He's ran away from home on several occassions. As a concerened mom I would searched for my son day and night and even in the early morning hours in a drug, gang infested areas by myself. NO! I was not afraid at all. I care for my child and I will do whatever it takes to protect and save him from all gangs. God bless to all parents out there that cares for their child. I will post more later.
